Shooting Stars or Aviatophobia?

Turns out I’m not the only one having plane crash dreams. Hundreds of others (according to Google) have dreamt of it too. Even a close friend of mine says she’s had the same dream when she was my age, and we both arrived to the same conclusion that it only means; I have a goal I’ve been wanting to reach but I can’t or maybe afraid I might not be able to reach.

I don’t know if I can say I still lack confidence in this day and age. But apparently, my dreams are telling me otherwise. Having to set goals as high as the skies but afraid of even taking the first step toward reaching them, the same as like having “aviatophobia” the fear of flying. But I don’t want to admit that. I don’t want to be scared of soaring high…

And now that I am wide awake, I’m willing to take the risk and make this dream go away, with the help of my family and friends who believe in me. The crashing plane I see is nothing but a shooting star, and my wish will soon be granted; in God’s grace and time.

Storm Raging Polka-dots

I had a deal with my current best friend/former boss who’s now based in China (and is also a fellow chictopian). I will design/create her personal logo in exchange for awesome outfits to fill my now-boring-closet. Now, how can I resist that? 😉

If you haven’t noticed yet, I have an obsession for ruffles and polka-dots, and I think my mom is to blame for it. She’s one of my inspirations when it comes to fashion. Now, I am very delighted to have a new addition to my polka-dot collection. Today’s outfit, which came in last week fresh from my friend in China: a polka-dotted jumpsuit. The hot pink belt which stood out from the black and white circles made the outfit complete. I paired it with a denim jacket to keep me warm under a stormy weather.

Inertia Creeps

Do you ever get the feeling of apathy sometimes? You’re physically present but your mind isn’t cooperating… and somehow, unwanted forces call for sudden change and you refuse to be swayed. Inertia Creeps. You want to be still. Be still.

What I’m Reading Wednesday: Happy Birthday or Whatever by Annie Choi

I’m halfway through Annie Choi’s “Happy Birthday or Whatever”, which I bought for only Php 45 at BookSale. Choi belongs to a Korean family who lived in the U.S. Reading this book feels like visiting their home and meeting her family. Choi’s humorous approach in writing is mostly what makes this a very entertaining read. I’m pretty sure a lot of us can relate to her relationship with her mother, for I too, can very well relate. Choi makes me realize how much I love my mom despite her wanting and expecting me to be at my best all the time. A definite must-read.

My Rainbow has Peacock details

I was supposed to attend my best friend’s baby’s first birthday but wasn’t able to because we had no car and the weather sucks at the same time. Too bad I missed the party.

I wore this colorful ensemble contrasting the gloomy weather. Although things didn’t work out the way we planned it, found an alternative way of spending the rainy afternoon.

We originally planned to watch Transformers but as expected on a Saturday afternoon, Greenbelt cinema tickets are sold out. So we had a simple dinner and had coffee instead.

Just behind my office in Rufino Tower, a strip of restaurants and food stops (including jolly jeep) can be found. And this is our first time to try Buffalo’s Wings N’ Things, which we both enjoyed.

Their buffalo wings are truly delectable, plus your choice of fries or rice with salsa. Their Fan Faves (Php 199.00) includes large iced tea is definitely worth it.

Then off to Figaro Greenbelt.

Next to UCC, Figaro is my choice. I love the ambiance and the coffee. They also serve pasta and rice meals (which are a bit pricey). You can never go wrong with Figaro and their coffee especially on a gloomy, rainy afternoon like this.

Pig-Out after Work-Out

When we exercise, the body produces endorphins which results to having a feeling of well-being. This maybe one of the reasons why there are people who work their asses out almost every day at the gym. Not only does it make you look and feel good about yourself, but it also imprints a smile on your face.

I used to dread my new work schedule (7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) because it’s really hard to wake up as early as 5:00 a.m. every day. But in my 2 months here, I’ve learned to live with it and also found reasons and benefits why it isn’t so bad. One of them is I am able to work out in the afternoon without having to wait 30 minutes for my turn to use the machines.

After a tiring yet fulfilling afternoon of work out, headed to North Park to regain my energy and satisfy my hunger.

You can never go wrong with North Park, especially if you’re a Chinese food lover like me. We spent roughly around 500 bucks (including service charge). It’s a bit pricey considering we only ordered yang chow fried rice, wanton noodle soup and steamed sharksfin dumplings, but I assure you, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth.

LemeLeme Addiction

Cam whores and frustrated photographers like me are the most likely ones to get addicted to this app. And since I love vintage and old school themes and photographs, this definitely keeps me up all night.  ♥
